		<description>The more general point is that, in order for an explanation to be plausible, it needs to reference something that evolution can &quot;see&quot;; something that can be potentially selected for. Without that, the explanation will flounder. I think there happen to be some benefits for at least &lt;em&gt;appearing&lt;/em&gt; consistent &lt;em&gt;to others&lt;/em&gt;, but no distinct benefit for appearing consistent to yourself.</description>

		<description>Maybe there is some other mechanism, for instance religion. If people believe, they could not accept that God make the innocent suffer. Therefore they believe that the victim has some secret sins and God punished her. Thus it might be a simple solution to the ‘problem of evil’.</description>
